Rules for 2003 Season
Horseshoe Mountain Raceway

Bodies

Any aluminum late model design bodies are acceptable.

Any shock or wedge design noses are acceptable.

Fenders, hoods and roofs are mandatory. (No open wheel cars allowed).

Trim or lips cannot extrude more than 1” above the deck lid.

Spoiler dimensions 8” tall, 72” wide and 46” overall height (Maximum from ground to top of spoiler).

Spoiler side dimensions 10” tall 24” long Maximum, with declining slope to front.

No wings, front spoilers, or side boards allowed.

Tow hooks front and rear are Mandatory.

Center of hub to front of nose 46” maximum.

Brakes

4 four wheel braking is Mandatory at all times.

Roll Cages and Drivers Compartment

Roll cages are Mandatory.

Minimum 2 overhead bars, 3 bars in front of driver, and 3 bars on left side consisting of minimum
1.5” x .0875 round tubing.

Drivers compartments must be fully enclosed on front, rear, bottom, and both sides.

5 point harness are Mandatory.

Quick release steering wheels are Mandatory.

Window nets or arms restraints are Mandatory

No mirrors allowed.

Drivers left overhead bar must be padded.

Engines and Components

1 four barrel carburetor only (No fuel injection, turbo’s, superchargers, or nitrous oxide systems.)

Allowable engine set back is 6” maximum.

Battery must be located behind driver’s compartment with metal hold-down straps.

Drive shaft and lead bars must be painted white.

Minimum 103” wheelbase.

Minimum 2300 lb weight with driver after race.

No traction control devices either electronic or mechanical that are capable of monitoring of adjusting to wheel speed or engine r.p.m.

Fuel systems

Fuel cells are Mandatory and must be in a metal container fastened by 2” x 18” straps

Alcohol, pump gas, or racing fuel only.

Tires

Any 11” dirt series tire WRS-D-%% spec tire on all four corners.

Any outside sanctioned races may require WRS spec tires on all 4 corners.

Safety

Fire suits and gloves are Mandatory.

Shoes and Nomex underwear are Mandatory.

Full face helmets and shields are Mandatory.

5-point racing harness with crotch belt, headrest, and window nets are Mandatory.

Must wear an approved neck brace.

Must have a min of 2^1/2 lb. number fire extinguisher, within reach of driver.
